Gang Triangulation — 3 Comments

  1. Government is unable or unwilling to control gang violence. So, government takes the easiest path: Control the people who obey the law. How’s that working out?

  2. Nice work toward validating the ‘holy grail’ statistic that might better inform crime mitigation efforts. Suggesting a corollary idea (and perhaps the cat is out of the bag on it): many fewer people might own guns primarily for self-defense, if the gang/drug component of gun violence was eliminated. The risk/benefit profile around gun ownership would change greatly.

  3. > …in terms of gun violence, the single largest contributing factor is street gangs.
    > This is not news; criminologists have been noting it for years.

It would be very helpful if you included cites of such observations by criminologists, if possible.

    Thanks!
